Great stuff. :good CW is Johnny Nelson with 14 defenses of his WBO title. I'm surprised they're so low at 130, 135 and 140.

A cruiserweight is like a bus stop on the road to the heavyweight division.

One more edit, since we're counting early WBO. Artur Grigorian had 17 defenses at lightweight.

next to galaxy could you put in brackets samson dutchboy, 40 wbf defences

is this consecutive defences as well? terry norris should be at 154, 16 defences in 3 title reigns. with a strange trilogy with santana.

Bernard Hopkins made a record 21 defenses of his crown before losing it in a contreversial match with Jermaine Taylor.

No, Eastman was his 20th defence of the IBF title then he fought Taylor next.

nice. now, how about making a list of the longest title reigns (in years) by division? or are they roughly the same boxers?

Probably not the same guys, because title fights tended to come pretty far between in the olden days.

Someone who's more technologically adept than I am should turn this into a Wikipedia page, so it doesn't get lost.
