100%. If we want to count title defences by Michalczewski it would be 14 defences of his lineal title. Still a great run! The WBO only got major in 2007.

nice job but this not the record per division, because you count all the world defenses in many divisions (for example you count you addition the defenses of Ivan Calderon at Minimumweight + Light Flyweight).

Yeah, I'm not retroactively honoring the WBO, either. Michalczewski's 14 is still tied with Bob Foster, however, which is pretty good.

The idea that Artur Grigorian had more defenses than Duran is a laughable concept, in my opinion.

Also, Golovkin didn't have 20 defenses, nor did Hopkins. Counting GGG's "regular" defenses is revisionism and how does a No Contest count as a successful defenses for Hopkins?

Wladimir Klitschko holds records for the longest cumulative heavyweight title reign of all time, with 4,382 days as world heavyweight champion, and most fighters beaten for the world heavyweight championship, at 23. He also holds records for the most wins and title defences of the unified championship.

I was looking up Ratanapol Sor Vorapin, as I'd not heard of him.

It's unbelievable how he was allowed to make defences of his IBF minimumweight world title against fighters on their DEBUT, and with records like. 14-14, 11-9-2, 21-15-1 , 20-15-4, 9-4-1, 17-7-4, 12-5-1

There has to be a massive asterisk placed next to his title defences. Cause clearly they weren't world title level wins.
