I used to think Tyson was massively overrated, and he is by some people, but the majority of boxing fans seem to have a pretty good perspective on his career, record and place amongst the greats. Now Riddick Bowe on the other hand... overrated across the board A slightly controversial one now, but I think Valuev gets underrated these days. I give good credit to Chagaev, Holyfield and Haye's victories over him (and maybe even Donald and Ruiz) but I think he would pose big problems for any heavyweight in history who lacks mobility, especially the 'big' heavyweights who lose their size advantage against him. I'm certainly not calling the man an ATG but I don't think he's quite as **** as a lot of people here make out
As big a Tyson fan as i am, i gotta say he does get overrated quite a bit. Sad when people like Burley go largely unknown.
Joe Calzaghe is both under-rated and over-rated different sides of the world. He was a great fighter but an all-time great? Just doesn't have the scalps to back that up.
over-rated: Caballero, just godawful in every way except height before his loss, Juanma Lopez Trinidad to some degree under-rated: Camacho, simply dominated B competition at high weight classes, never got stopped, only lost to the very best (or Haugen, but ref shouldn't have taken a point in that fight) Pryor
Yea i agree wit that ,Iron Mike tends to get overrated at times..... Most overrated of all time : Calzaghe Most Underrated of all time : Sonny Liston
