The one thing I'll say about Ruiz is that the guy has balls. He'll fight anyone, anytime. He ducks nobody. That counts for a lot.

cool im not getting gunned for while i ran.

um i think as bad as he is. he is a 2 time titlist only latin heavywieght champ and has as you said alot of balls. i think if you have the qualities to not care about losing but onl;y winning then that is a good attitude where as a loss is crucifing to some fighters he will lose and not blink an eye...only in the valuev fight did he go..."que?" and in that his trainer(who is so fun to watch) was running around the ring saying you suck lol.

anyways my point is he is unappreciated to what he did so he should deserve more credit

there was a thread a few days ago about the best 200 pounder heavies and i think schmelling came pretty high like top 5 easily top 3 maybe only marciano and louis came close frazier was around 5 and holy field was around top 3 material.

but for his size and europeaness he was a great fighter and should get alot of recognition to his sadly weak title riegn

Ruiz will fight anyone anytime because all he is planning on doing is turning the fight in the hugfest. Hell, I'd hug another guy for a couple mil a fight, wouldn't you?

this is exactly the point as rubbish as he is he is a 2 time champion to say that he was rubbish is ok i dont mind im not ruiz am i. yet his hugging ability and wreslting prowees beats and wins alot of fights. now do you understand as boring as he is. he wins fights he should lose he doesnt care who he faces he is there to get aggresive with guys.

thats underappreciated when your style is the reaon that got you the title and gets you hate at the same time

    Ruiz is a fantastic pick.

Walcott? Charles? No. They are talked about to DEATH here. Even Braddock, who once may have had a claim here, has even had a film and a popular book written about him. Ruiz does fight anyone and everyone, and has come back from embarrassing losses more than once to remain a figure in the division for a good long time. And everyone (and I mean everyone) hates him.

Jersey Joe Walcott and Ezzard Charles don't really get mentioned that much. I think a lot of people haven't even seen them fight, aside from getting KOed by Rocky Marciano - if that.
