Countries like USA, México and England are largely recognized boxing countries, but which countries, in your opinion, produced a good number of champions and/or legends and aren't recognized ?
I did know that Jose Mantequilla Napoles was originally from Cuba but defected to Mexico when Fidel Castro came into power in 1959.
As for the amauter game, Cuba has produced a ridiculous amount of truly great fighters. Panama had some legends most notably Duran and Pendoza.
Puerto Rico of course... Panama for that legendary class of the 60s-70s... Argentina has been consistently producing quality fighters for a long time and still have an active scene. Nicaragua has produced some great fighters & it looks like Guatemala is on the come up.
Germany is another country that has produced very solid fighter's over the years. They mostly seem to be well schooled tactical fighters. Schmeling, Maske, Michalczewski, and Ottke come to mind.
Venezuela. Has: Betulio Gonzalez (ATG) Antonio Gómez Carlos Hernandez Antonio Esparragoza Leo Gamez Israel Contreras Rafael Orono Edwin Valero Among others.
Came to my mind as well. Panama, Italy and Argentina, too. Lots of greats from there that people seem to brush over, and seem to get overshadowed by their number one and two in the case of Argentina and Panama.
Ireland are surprisingly good in the amateurs Shame we never produce many elite fighters in the pros though
Thailand has consistently produced elite boxers I don’t see them mentioned often as a boxing country enough unless it is in regards to fighters transitioning and getting licked.
