For example mine would be in no particular order Lennox Lewis Earnie Shavers Nigel Benn Roberto Duran David Haye Larry Holmes (when people talk about him and rate him they never seem to mention his chin but they mention) his skills Ken Norton What are some of your picks? And if you disagree with mine let me know so I can explain them.
Really like a few of your mentions Devon. Holmes' chin is criminally underrated. He has by far one of the best I've seen ever. Duran and Benn also get underrated as well. Benn tends to have his knack for bad stamina confused with having a bad chin. I'm relieved to see you say Norton on your list too. I thought he had a pretty good chin.
Benn was hurt by Galvano and Duran took Barkley`s power better than Benn did, as did Nunn who was caught flush with two Barley power shots in the 1st round of his clash v Iran just like Benn was but was far less shaken than Benn, Benn was also floored by Anthony Logan who never became a top 10 contender despite having good power.
I was gonna say AJ, but I don’t know what that 1st Ruiz fight was all about, he was going down from glancing blows, but he seemed to have a decent chin in the Klitschko fight
Durans chin is highly respected. The abberation was the Hearns anhiliation but it is chocked down to Hearn's tremendous power rather than a weakness of Durans chin.
I agree with you. I wasn't saying Benn had a great chin, but he proved on several occasions that he could win a tough fight.
Actually I would rank Holmes higher, not on the basis of being tougher than Ali, but just because he proved it more often.
Who the hell underrated Leonard`s chin? Ray`s chin was far more proven P4P than Louis`s, he was never stopped in his prime and w3ent toe to toe with Duran and took some bombs off Hearns in their first bout.
Ezzard Charles. His chin and his heart. https://www.boxingforum24.com/threa...tly-underrated-and-unbelievable-heart.642751/
