bacause the recent pavlik-kessler poll was a mere whitewash in kessler's favor.

Chris John and Pavlik are more underrated than Mijares? And Guzman isn't even on the list?

comments like these are pretty good. so i would say wlad but i dont want to be nuthugging right now :yep However, if u read Ring, they usually make him sound like a fringe contender.

I'd say Mikkel Kessler right now. The guy is a savage but lost to a truly dominant champ. So coming off a loss and not being American allow him to be overlooked. He certainly can be an elite fighter for years to come.
Povetkin too especially when he's being matched up with guys like arreola :nut

If Klitshko and Calzaghe were American they'd be considered worldbeaters. This isnt USA bashing, I love America but it's a fact. Imagine Klitshko was American? Clearly the best Heavy out there but because he's a big, ugly Eastern European he's not given anywhere near the credit he deserves. Same applies to Calzaghe although to a lesser extent. It's all very well saying he's overrrated, but by whom? Most Americans are simply waiting for him to lose so they can say I told you so. He's a fantastic boxer, and no matter who he fights in his last few fights he won't be fully appreciated. If he beats Hopkins then Hopkins is too old, if he beats Pavlik then Pavlik was overhyped. Non-American fighters have to achieve so much more to recieve the same recognition as American fighters. At least now I think people are beginning to realise that the American opinion isnt the be all and end all. Boxing's a global sport and legacies should be determined by global views. As for Floyd, we should appreciate him while he's still fighting. He's brilliant, charasmatic, interesting and gracious in victory. Were he to stop fighting, boxing would be the worse for it.

You need to take Pavlik off of this list, he is a big name.
