    Most underrated fighters ever?

Well clearly it has to be someone who some people would put at or near the bottom of the probable 100's of thousands of boxers who have fought for money, but does not deserve to be there.

My answer thus would be Peter Buckley.

All the fighters listed so far, maybe underated by possibly 100's of places, Buckley in the grand scheme of things, is probably underrated by 10's of thousands of places.

    Bert Gilroy,

those of you who have a copy of his Scrapbook will have had the knowledge of over 300 reports, ratings and lost info on arguably Britain's greatest middleweight!

I'm a big, big fan of Francois Botha, whether he is underrated or not though is a different matter.

Michael Moorer by my token. First southpaw HW champ, maybe one of the hardest LHW punchers ever, absolute piston for a jab, hell his right hand in general is one of the best ever for a southpaw.

Shame he had his problems with money, alcohol, and overall commitment.

How so? Most think he's the greatest lightweight ever, and he regularly shows up on all-time top 10 (and often top 5) pound-per-pound lists.

I think a lot of Asian fighters are both under-rated and over-rated, simply because many Western boxing fans have not seen them (as well as because they fought in unfamiliar weights) and therefore almost exclusively fixate upon won-loss records.

For instance, someone like Jung-koo Chang (who fought and decisively beat everyone worth mentioning in his era) is grossly under-rated, because of his 3 past-prime losses (and the controversial prime loss to Zapata when he was injured and in no position to fight anyways and still should've won according to everyone who saw the fight), whereas guys with near-perfect paper records who fought no one like Myung-woo Yuh or Khaosai Galaxy are vastly over-rated.
