Nestor Garza vs Enrique Sanchez. The fight plan Nestor deployed is brilliant. My good friend, the man in the hat in the Garza corner, conceived it, taught it, and wrote a chapter in the book on how to beat a southpaw with your left hand. Good fight. This content is protected
^^^^ Nestor Garza's fight with Kozo Ishii is one of the most brutal fights you'll ever see. This content is protected
Are you sure man, I seem to remember Roger doing extremely poor here. Well, Napoles doing extremely well, and out-classing Roger. He didn't land anything big to my memory.
SO what I meant was, as if proof were needed that Napoles was a great fighter, this fight rubber stamped it, front page of the Boxing News that Friday, and I can still remember it all this time later, " Napoles shows his class " Roger was a barrel chested strongman of a fighter, almost a WW version Chuvalo, you are are right it was one sided, because Jose made it that way, he put on a master class of hit and not be hit, totally outclassed a more than worthy contender, never had he boxed more fluid, so in that sense it was great, to see a fighter at the very top of his game.
George Feeney v Ray Cattouse in 1982. It was legendary for a few years after but is now never mentioned. The crowd at the Albert Hall were standing after each round.
There's a longer version on Youtube somewhere Billy. You get the second half of the fight. Some great commentary from dear old Harry Carpenter too.
