You know the score. Quite often, influenced by the first fight,we all feel we know how a rematch is going to pan out. But some turn the established order on it's head. The ones that come to mind immediately are - James 'Bonecrusher' Smith-Tim Witherspoon II What a shocker !!!! Tim dominated and shut out Smith in their first go in 1985,so a repeat was in order, was n't it ? No way. Smith blitzes 'Spoon in the first stanza. The backdrop of Witherspoon's state of mind only came to light afterwards. Denis Andries-Jeff Harding II After Harding upsetting the odds first time round,he was a dead cert to do it again. Andries knocked the Australian hard man out in his own back yard. Incidentally, this was a rarity in as much as the underdog winning each time in a trilogy. The only other one that comes to mind was Graziano-Zale. How many more can you think of ?
Bowe - Golota. Some thought Bowe took Golota too lightly and would win this time, other that Golota is better anyway and this time wins without fauls... another DQ in similar circumstances was probably big surprise to everybody.
Martinez - Williams 2 Martinez wasn't known as a big puncher - the result of the fight catapulted Martinez to the of p4p ratings.
Carnera-Sharkey II? Walcott-Charles III - if you're including 3rd fights Ketchell-Papke II - don't think Stan saw that one coming.... Robinson-Fullmer II
Lot's of terrific selections here ... Maybe Corbett - Sharkey 2 Holmes - Spinks 2 Qwai - Saad 2 and Saad Conteh 2 based on the ease of the victories ...
Marciano-Walcott II? Did anyone under the sun think 1st round - it shouldn't have even been first round?!? That was just a mistake
