Most versatile boxer from 1970-1989

Leonard, Duran, and Hagler were the first to come to mind.

Michael Spinks should be mentioned too.

 

Of the guys you mentioned, I'd agree with Thread Stealer. Leonard, Hagler, and Duran come to mind first. Guys who excelled against a variety of styles and great fighters using different tactics.

Wilfredo Gomez at 122 was nothing short of incredible. Very versatile and complete, offensively, defensively, and stylistically. He's definitely one of the tops of the time period (and of all-time I'd say).

 

Duran. Went from Panamanian Berserker transformed to a more technical fighter and subdued fighter after the second Leonard fight.

Of course it's Sugar Ray but you can never disregard Mike McCallum and Donald Curry for versatility. Muhammad Ali would have been the most versatile if you had considered a period further back in time b4 1970. But it just breaks my head when people consider all of those and Michael Spinks who was mostly unorthodox and you don't consider Larry Holmes who was able to deal with a wide variety of opponents and almost broke Marciano's record... It's not your fault, Larry is definitely and ultimately underrated in what has to do with versatility and skillset.
