Behind-the-ear punches seem to have a greater effect to me than straight chin shots. A good liver shot also can punch a guy's ticket very quickly.

sort of an odd punch that Golovkin landed on Rubio sort of a top/side location , not quite a temple shot but definitely bad for the brain.

Some guys definitely take head shots better than liver shots as GGG's highlight reel of KO's demonstrates.

Interesting, but the balance and coordination center is located in the cerebellum.

Imo getting punched in the face doesn't hurt that much, but a liver shot makes you wish you were dead.

But if you had to choose, Two identical left hooks, one to the cerebellum, or one to the tip of the chin?

Which would do most damage, or most likely take you out?

The occiput. A direct blow to the occiput doesn't even have to be hard to do serious damage. The weakest Paul Malignaggi love tap could drop granite-jawed HWs like George Chuvalo and Oliver McCall like a sack of potatoes in an instant if it landed directly on the occiput.

For those of you who don't know where the occiput is located

Tyson hit Berbick with a temple shot, and he fell down three times from that one punch.

But getting hit in the liver? Yeah, I never want that again. dropped like a sack of ****.

    Is this always the case?

I see guys thrive from clubbing the opponents on the side of their heads rather than take'em out with straight punches to the chin. Wilder is the obvious example. Long reach, fast clubbing punches behind the guard with medium power behind them. Think that's his secret, watch his knockouts, it feels like he's aiming for the ear, really.
