I'm asking who was the best at making there opponents bleed? Who won the most fights by cutting his opponents? I have seen Marvin Hagler win a number of fights this way, does anyone else come to mind?
Sims laik Hagler rili woz ze bigest kater of zem ol, end if enysing it lowers (shud lower) ze valyu of hiz wins.
Ali supposedly had an uncanny ability to cut his opponents. I honestly don't know how many fights he won on cuts.
4 for certain (Daniels, Cooper x2, and Quarry 1). Orlando Zulueta apparently won a lot through this method.
Also re Ali, in addition to those mentioned I think Alis rematch stoppage win over Floyd Patterson was contributed to by a cut over his left eye And in a round about way Ali's first win over Joe Bugner was assisted no end by Bugner sustaining a Bad cut in the very first round, Thereafter Bugner was mainly concerned with staying the course, ( a growing habit it seems )
Orlando Zulueta is the answer to this question. Ironically, he himself was cut to death by Hells Angels.
One thing though is that I'm not asking purely for wins on cuts, but also who who could cut there opponents and make that a factor in there fights, nit all cuts lead to a stopped fight, but they can still help someone win a fight.
.....ezzard charles could slice a guy to ribbons. he won a lot of fights this way. when he fought joe baksit a tough heavyweight when ezzard was out weighed by more than the "official" records show, baksi told the referee he couldn't continue because he couldn't see. this is just one example i can think of offhand. zuelueta (sp?) , as other guys have said here, was known as "the fighter with razors in his gloves" even in fights he lost the other looked more like the loser at the end.
Alexis Arguello was able to slice a man up as though he had razors in his gloves...witness the first Escalera bout.
