silence is golden in a gym. being the only person in a large professional gym feels great because you don't have to wait for people to finish or here kids goof around. while i am running that is something else. i was listen to almost everything with my new ipod.

When I feel like quitting, I just think of what fighters like JMM went through getting up three times in that first round against Pac, or imagine if one of the greats walked in and was watching me train, and then I try my best to suck it up.

Music wise, good conscious hip hop with a bouncing aggressive bass beat works, as well as good riffs/hooks in rock songs that have a driving momentum. Sometimes I listen to "I Still Have A Soul" which HBO uses for their promos, or 24/7 music. Definitely helps when running.

Boxing: Hard, 90's Hip Hop like Gang Starr, Onyx, Wu-Tang, Nas. Truly helps me with footwork, rhythm, head movement, etc.

Strength and Endurance Training: Metal/Hardcore like Pantera, Biohazard, Sepultura, System of a Down

Roadwork: I like the Rocky IV soundtrack. Nothing keeps me going on the road better than a good ol' Rocky Training Montage.

:good ****ing cosigned. I work out to the training montage from Rocky 4 when I run and play Going the Distance from number 2, Gonna Fly Now when i lift, and War when I do my heavy bag work outs.

Aside from that, I mix it up but I do heavy bag stuff to anything from 50 to Gym Class Heroes to GnR. Good beat and rhythm is essential to a good work out.

Depends on the day and task.

If I'm running a quick short run, I sometimes listen to military cadence. Its usually timed somewhere in the 9-10 min mile pace. Plus, being prior military, I have to admit that **** motivates me.

Distance runs I may put on a playlist of anything, sometimes its mellow and lets your mind zone out into the scenery (one of my favorite things about running).

When I box at the gym, usually my coach is giving instruction or I have headgear on, so no music.

When I box without the coach I usually listen to something aggressive, Godsmack, Rollins Band, etc..

I like trance music for training. I find with other kinds of music I want to change the track too often cause one song is too soft or I'm just not feeling it for whatever reason. With trance I can just put one press play and then leave it until I'm done.

Drake - Forever gets me ready nicely
Papoose - Born to win gets me pumped up as well

  11. Boxing- Havent boxed in ages but it was self motivated, i walked or jogged to the gym so usually the anticipation was good for preparing. Sometimes youtube HL videos helped.

Working out - Looking at inspiration like professional athletes. Out doing mates or working out with certain people.

Running - Used to run to music but running 3-4 days a week now, just listening to the body works. Living near the beach with babes everywhere is enough motivation.

Not easy to run with music. Well I can't anyway...

Music wise, check out Explosions in the Sky, Followed by Ghosts, Codes in the Clouds, Two Steps from Hell and someone else already mentioned Epic Score.

This kind of music will inspire you.

I first got into it all when HBO 24/7 used it, like a lot of others.

while strength training i listen to celtic/folk punk and oi!, it keeps me happy and has good rhythm. mostly only dropkick murphys, flatfoot 56, black 47, street dogs, real mckenzies. and 'don't stop believing by journey thrown in, haha.
i used to listen to metal while training but it gets me to revved up and i lose my focus. i prefer to listen to that while while hitting the heavy bag, especially demon hunter, motorhead, metallica.
