I hope the likes of Nevada and New York still keep their nerve and make sure Mesi does not fight there. Joe needs to retire before he injures himself, and secondly injures this great sport.

Are you a doctor? Have you studied his case?

There's fighters who are licesensed to have plates in their heads... :patsch

Get over yourself, if Joe wants to fight, let him fight.

Povetkin would stop Mesi....in a fight that would actually be a step down for him.

No, the sport is already struggling to justify itself in this day and age, the least it can do is make the likes of Mesi and Valero are protected from themselves. This is why a (worldwide licenced) Union with a proper health care and compensation programme is needed to help these fighters when they need to call it a day.

Mesi is a brave bugger, but he needs protecting from himself IMO.

This is impressive- Mesi's had three crushing first-round knockouts in a row, and this last one was over a pretty durable and tenacious C-level guy who had never been blown out before. However, "move over Povetkin" is going much too far- fact is, Povetkin has been beating better opposition than Mesi in the last couple years, and he's still in his first 15 fights and won't be turning 30 for a good while. Mesi is getting old for a fighter, and needs to step up his opposition again soon if he wants to make a serious run at the title.
