If they are jabbing, try slipping to your right instead and throwing your right.

slip and counter. duck and counter. move laterally and counter. ex: opponent throws 1-2. you can 1) step to the side and throw your own 1-2, 2)block the right and counter, or 3) slip the right and counter with left hook. There's a million possibilities so it's not much use to theorize about all of them. This isn't tae kwon do where you prepare for the most specific attacks. You just have to drill the fundamentals and apply them instinctually.

slip away from the lead hand afta ur opponent jabs u, keeping ur jabbing hand close to ur jaw, then come in wid a right hook or cross of ur own. Once u catch him or throw these punches move back into ur old position with lateral movement jabbing ur way in and finishing with a body shot. You could also finish off with slamming your body into ur opponent, causing them to exert energy to hold their ground. B-Hop incorporates this tactic alot when trying to tire his opponents. Look at what he did to trinidad and de la hoya. if you can, try watching the b-hop trinidad fight to see how he emplys the perfect counter moves and then turn defense into attack.
