    I like this one

John Ruiz gets embarrassed by Roy Jones, doesn't get a purse, gets a percentage of the PPV, and loses his title.

I read on secondsout before the fight he had an offer to fight Lennox Lewis for I believe 2 million and turned it down.

I would rather lose to the HW champ rather than to a LHW in Jones.

Jeff Lacy goes to England to unify the 168 lb weightclass and become the first man to beat Joe Calzaghe.

He comes home with no belts and a ruined career.

And I remember some people on this forum were calling him the next Mike Tyson...please!!

Pavlik getting a little to cocky with his talent and moving up to light heavyweight only to get embarrased by old man Hopkins. Bad move Kelly, bad move. :-(

Jeff Lacy was a quality fighter, I hate the way he gets stick on this board. He was ruined not just by a masterfull once in a decade performance but he had major shoulder surgery for a full tear, I honestly think thats ruined him. If you notice he was looking great for the first 2 rounds vs Typsko untill the injury happened and he's never been the same since.

Jeff Lacy was a quality fighter.

I remember a classic quote from Moorer about this. He was at some function a few years after and they showed a clip of Foreman laying Moorer out. Some reporter went up to Moorer and asked him what he thought

Moorer just turned around and said "If I had ducked one more time, we'd be selling Michael Moorer grills right now". :rofl

Didn't Hasim Rahman have an offer from HBO for tens of millions?

That was after he beat Lewis.

He turned it down and got starched in his next fight w/ Lewis.

Lost his title and the HBO $$$.

I love that line; must be fun training under him - he's been flying under the radar assisting on quite a few upsets recently.
Poor guy has to guest on every Top Knockouts of all Time show and watch that clip over and over, sometimes sitting next to Teddy Atlas who's still yelling at him about circling the wrong way. Atlas has to learn how to let things go...

Yup. He wanted to beat Lewis and then the offer by HBO would have gone up.

He ended up fighting on HBO a lot anyway but he def lost money.

Speaking of his rematch with LL. Anyone else notice Rahman shook hm with a left hook? Man LL did not have a stable chin at times.

money wise it was smart, that did close 600 000 ppv, ruiz would have made millions from that fight.

Well I read he was having problems getting paid from King so I am not sure on that. Not to mention he could have been getting a small % from the fight, not like half or w/e
