http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1781827/ what do you guys think? personally durans my 3rd fav fighter of all time so im absolutely wrapped to see a movie made about one of the best P4P fighters to have ever lived bit worried with the casting of usher as sugar ray though...
I think I had a similar reaction to most when I heard this; "Fantastic - a movie about one of the greatest fighters ever. He was larger-than-life, charismatic - this should be amazing. DeNiro's in it too?!? There's no way this isn't going to be a classic - they'd almost have to try to mess it u ... wait, ... Usher?!?"
I wonder if they'll have him actually say "no mas" in the movie? Evidently, Duran never actually said those exact words, but they put it in the movie description. It would be pretty bad if they get it wrong.
How can they cover Duran's entire career in a 2 hour movie? There's the Buch fight, Dejesus trilogy, basically his entire lightweight career can be done in a movie, then his move up with the Leonard fights, Cuevas, Benitez, Hearns, Hagler, Barkley.. then there's the fights when he was shot as **** going into the 90's with Camacho, Joppy, etc.
Depends if they want a happy ending or not. If it does end with the first fight the final scene should be Duran grabbing his balls and pointing at Benitez.
originally gael garcia was cast to play duran. not sure what happened. usher sucks. hopefully they do roberto some justice.
