Yeah, the exception is, if you like the fighter, he is challenging himself, if you dislike him, he's a weight bully that should have moved up years ago. LOL
I guess, if that's how one prefers to think about this stuff. Of course, as we know, fans are some of the worst when it comes to thinking critically. Too many fanboys
At ESB, if a fighter cuts weight to fight in a lower division we call him a weight bully. But if that fighter becomes less of a bully by moving up in weight, we call him lazy. Which is it?
It's almost as if you post here but have no clue what actually is discussed here. I speak on whatever is being discussed ATM, I'm sure you've got a surveillance team on all my posts. It's a discussion board. And more power to you, but, I can't imagine being so bothered by random people not agreeing with me that i need to block them lol. Sounds like you're here for an echo chamber where everyone agrees on everything.
Yeah, why eliminate the chase for undisputed? What sense does that make? How are you realistically going tell established boxing organizations to not exist lol? And if you're removing divisions like I suggested, you're moving more fighters into those divisions left to increase the competition for the 4 belts.
With one champ, there's ONLY one champ and is therefore undisputed. I don't see the need to remove divisions. There's too many politics in play with the promoters as well as the sanctioning bodies.
Do we really need weight classes separated by 5 lbs or less? A weight bully at the lower classes is blowing through several classes rehydrating on fight night. I'd get rid of every "super" weight class. We'd have less stars for sure, but also less guys playing weight games. One belt tales away history from the sport. It's been about unifying for the about best of the best for a while. Rather than get rid of belts, make them(ABC organizations) function in concert and actually force fights rather than be financial partners to fighters. Promoters have too much power. That would improve the sport overnight. The only belts that need to go are the extra bs ones they come up with when someone doesn't get their shot.
I have no issues with the weight classes. For smaller guys, that 5 pounds can be huge. But that's a whole ‘nother discussion. Unifying is rare, and can be hindered. But the ABCs aren’t going to do a damn thing. That’s been the problem for much too long already. And they stand to lose too much money they already take in w/ trying to do some sort of unifying sanction. The interim and super champs are also a problem. But weight bullys are following the same rule everyone single other boxer has as well. We don’t like it, but that too is a whole nother discussion.
The funny thing is Inoue and Crawford and Usyk are doing exactly what youre talking about and the "fans" prefer Spence or Tank or Wilder, etc. Its honestly funny. Am looking forward to the next gen of fighters. PBC a joke and seemingly racist org
Contenders? Try naming 2 of the 4 title holders in every division! I bet you would even have to think a bit when it comes to welterweight. One would have to be a real hardcore fan to name just 2 of the 4. I think most on the board would even struggle with 130lbs and up.
Imagine 1 champ per division, I bet it would make guys think twice before moving up quickly to another division. It would also necessitate legitimate box offs for a #1 contender.
Imagine how many more guys would get boxed out from title fights.... Just look at how bent out of shape everyone gets when fighters get skipped over with 4 belts in any given division. Some guys would fight entire careers never getting a shot due to politics. It'd be worse.
So when is it drained and when is it weight bullying? If you look like a skeleton, why are you not drained and able to fight at a high level?
It never use to happen as much in the years gone by because the gaps between divisions were much bigger however moving in to the modern era of boxing it for the most part and there are always exceptions, but for the most part it is American fighters than jump/hop through the weight divisions. Not really something you see very often with British fighters except for maybe Amir Khan. I have no issue with it, it generates some of the best fights.
