I've been thinking about this. I once heard Manny Steward (RIP) in an HBO fight coverage a few years back say that André Berto was so strong, even as a kid, that he never had to really learn anything else beause he could just blow his opponents out of the ring with superior power. Well, that approach does'nt work when you step up your competition. Could that be what Broner (who is fighting tonight) is experiencing now? I mean, his flatfootedness seems like a bad habit that he could have gotten rid of with the right training. It's not like he can't do it. He's not disabled. Was he so good as an amateur figthing in the local tournaments that he, like Berto, did'nt need to broaden his game (foot work) to win fights, and that that is now coming back to hurt him. How important are the trainers for the future careers of the kids and teenagers they train? There was a question there at the end, but feel free free to expand on the topic as a whole. :good
