What do you mean "worldwide?" Not every person of African descent in the world is "African-American." You probably think Africa is one big country too. SMH. Like I said, when you have an oppressors POV, you can't understand the difference between understanding the root cause of one's condition and lacking self confidence. It is IGNORANCE that leads to a lack of self confidence. Knowledge is what allows one to BUILD confidence. Please learn the difference, if that's possible. People think that 400 plus years of oppression can be resolved by forgetting about it. Foolish thinking. Sent from my SCH-I545 using Tapatalk
Seems allot like Liberal thinking to be honest, Liberalism is dying if you have not been reading the news :happy What happened 400 years ago means LITTLE today. If an African-American wants to succeed, work at a Mcdonalds, apply for financial aid and go to school. Graduate, find a job and continue cycle. It is not rocket science atsch Many African-Americans have done the same thing and risen out of poverty and in to prosperity.
I don't think you even believe what you are saying. The "cycle of poverty" you mention started 400 plus years ago, and has been systematically maintained to this day. The ramifications of chattel slavery and disenfranchisment are longer reaching than most would like to admit. Illegal drugs and guns were not manufactured in the black communities. They are placed there with a purpose in mind. You can only see the world perched high in the sky, from the oppressors point of view. That's why it crawls right past you. Of course, people can try to get jobs where they want and go to the college of their choice, etc. I have a "good" job and a college education myself. That's should be everyone's right to pursue. And who do you led the protests and gave their lives to make that possible? But, it's only been black people's right for less than a generation. And that route to success was given stiff competition from the drugs being pumped into the black communities, yeilding fast high dividends but short life spans. Drugs and guns that were pumped into those communities by the dominant culture, that entertwined a cycle of death and violence with an existing cycle of poverty. So now people have to dodge bullets and walk over used syringes, not be tempted by the allure of local drug dealers and pimps, avoid gang initiations, or being the object of someone else's gang initiiation, on their way to their job at McDonald's.
