It is an obsession. You only do this with Golovkin. It isn't a weight issue since he's smaller than a lot of the guys he fights and that's just if you keep it in his division. There are guys in other divisions that are outright weightbullies, but I never see you talking about them. This means you either don't watch boxing a lot and aren't aware of their existence, or you just want to criticize Golovkin and only Golovkin.

As far as this 164 thing... Golovkin apparently was open to fighting them at 168 according to Eddie Hearn in the case of Froch. I haven't heard anything about the Chavez Jr fight happening at any weight in particular, but I know Hearn said 168 and he doesn't have much of a reason to lie. Froch however, does. Golovkin actually tried to make the Ward fight happen for over a year and nothing came of it.

He's always made it clear that he's after the belts and because of that it makes sense for him to stay at MW right now.

If this is the case, I take it back when I said he ducked a potential fight with Ward at 168.

 

You forgot one important fact there ? Not one fighter 160-168 is confident enough to sign on the dotted line & fight him

 

I really don't get the issue. When you have a fighter who is comfortable at 160 and planning on staying there negotiating a one off bout with a fighter who is comfortable at 168 and not planning to move down, surely a 50/50 compromise is fair to both sides. Unless you're an Andre Ward fan, in which case anything other than the deck blatantly stacked in his favour is ridiculous and unreasonable.
