There is no doubt that Eddie Hearn is a skilled businessman. He makes DAZN pay a fortune for quite ordinary boxing events. Well done !

 

Lol. Look at Matchroom's run from November 25 - December 23. Even someone on Warren's payroll like yourself can't deny it's an incredible run of events, which would have been even better if Haney vs Prograis wasn't on PPV. Not sure how yesterday's event was "ordinary"?

 

Apart from the main event - by the way : A fantastic fight - yesterday's Matchroom event was quite ordinary. It reminded me of a MTK Boxing event.

 

There's a difference between an "event" and a "card" though. Cully vs Mould was surprisingly competitive so I enjoyed watching it. Paddy Donovan shocked us all dispatching Danny Ball so comfortably. The first 2 fights on the telecast I agree were terrible. I said before the event they should have put one of the all-Irish fights on the main card instead of Skye Nicholson.

 

Sorry I should have written Matchroom card and not Matchroom event.

I may have been influenced by the many Eddie Hearn interviews this week where he described the undercard as amazing

 

Factually correct but all with different strategies.
Matchroom would love to be seen as a UFC of boxing, promoting everywhere and focusing on big cards plus its media brand. Can't deny they're making progress on that, even if it means they are level pegging for UK shows (debatable).
Queensberry, aside from current Saudi relationship, is not attempting to be a "global promoter", it's got a niche in the UK and has done well with BT/TNT money and Fury's comeback.
No idea what Boxxer's strategy is.
