I would say bad. I don't deny the talent, but he got scared to ever get hit again after his chin was exposed by an old Moseley. Repeatedly showed cowardice and even admitted to as much. Has many people trying to copy his boring defensive strategy and also trying to copy his tactic of never facing the best in their prime. So, all in all, I would say bad. The fact boxing has become vastly less popular in his reign, I fear, is no coincidence.

Bad. Made people think an 0 was the only thing that mattered and lead to a generation of ducking and taking fights you are massively favored in. Fortunately since Matchroom sport have become the lead promoter in boxing they seem to be changing that as Al Haymon and crew fall by the wayside

Lol... blaming Floyd for the downfall of boxing?

People knew EXACTLY what they were paying for in a Floyd fight. If anyone paid and was disappointed... they aren't too bright. I blame all the idiots who get off on this WWE type of prefight hype and believing all the talk... then get sour because Floyd fought a very technical fight and "bored" everyone.

HOWEVER... Floyd's fanbase are a bunch of morons who ACTUALLY believe that 1 single guy can be a ppv attraction, which is why Floyd got awa with murder with some of the garbage ppv he sold.

Somewhere in the middle Mayweather was a offensive fighter up til 147 and didn't become more defensive until he was in he mid/late 30's and fighting guys who routinely outweighed him by 15-20lbs.

The bigger problem with Floyd is his haters who make out like he got to where he was at by fighting nobodies, you repeat something enough guys will believe it now these new guys look for the easy way out.

More fighters should be like the real Mayweather and not the false image haters try to protra. 2 of Mayweather's first 3 divisional title's were against guys who are HOFers and borderline ATGs at the weight in Hernandez at 130, and Castillo at 135. at 140 he could have easily had 2/3 Titles at that weight his first fight vs Corley ppl forget Corley has just lost his IBF title the fight before in a close SD to Judah.

At 147 where he catches the most flack dude best more Champions and top rated fighters than any WW in recent memory even average wins for Floyd like Judah or Baldomir are better than top wins at WE then guys like Brook/Thurman.

Floyd put in work to become the loud talking fighter he became, none of these new fighters are willing to put in that work that's why they'll never be truly great.

Not entirely, but he has been the face of boxing for this era. Look at the previous holders of that honour - Lewis, Tyson, Ali, Robinson, Dempsey, Sugar Joe Calzaghe. All either men of honour and a credit to the sport or exciting fighters.

This thread is hilarious. I don't think Hitler has caught as much **** as Floyd. You guys and the media have so many double standards that you hold Floyd too but no other fighter it's a joke. GGG and Lomenchenko I'm just going to use as examples. Both are unproven in terms to the standard Floyd is/was held too but both are top 10 p4p fighters today and this is Floyds fault I suppose as well. How bout we all cut the sheet. You hate his success more than anything else, even more than his skin color lmao.

Well, I voted bad but its not entirely Floyd's fault that the state of boxing is what it is.
I will try to make an argument. I voted bad because Floyd advocated so hard that he's a business man first. The" my health comes first" and the carefull choice of fighting opponents at the right time are just business decisions, not that the guy was scared or that he couldnt beat them in their prime. No!
He created this business-boxer cult that didnt exist before. And boxers were making fortunes before Floyd came on the scene. Now we hear from the likes of Garry Russel jr ( remember him) that they're not figgting because they are businessmen and demand impossible purses in this "recession" of the boxing world that arent sustainable. So fights arent happening and the fans lose.

Another fighter has to rise up and change the paradigm.

Now I'd like to a Floyds fan make a case for why he has voted good. Just curious

Floyd Mayweather was a boil on boxing's ass . A very talented boxer that lacked the courage to ever be great

The dude was a cancer on the sport. Almost everything bad we have now can be traced directly back to him.

Hans doesn't like Farage or Brexit IIRC. So probably not, unless its his attempt at a swerve, which is doubtful.

Thats disappointing, he always seemed like a guy that would enjoy brexit.

Anyways to get back on subject, yes I think all these other fighters are pretending they are some unbeatable force now. Floyd really was unbeatable at a point in his career. None of the other undefeated guys now are close to him in caliber. This is gonna end soon though. Fans aren't buying into fights like Garcia vs. Salka that much. Promoters will be forced to make good fights again to make money hopefully.
