He wanted praise for it, its a big news story it may get him some good publicity.
I don't have quite enough money to give to anybody, White or Black, I have too many poor White family members to take care of, because believe it or not there are a lot of poor White people as well.

But for the record I have given money to AIDS charities for Africans, and to help in Louisiana after Katrina.

I hear what you saying and I respect the fact that you have shared some of what you have with the less fortunate. I also have donated to several charities and I don't discriminate because of color because people are people and we all hurt the same way. However, I don't judge or put expectations on anybody, regardless of how much money they have because when they get old and ready for the grave, they have to answer to their own souls.

Do you realize how many charity requests, not only Floyd Mayweather, but every major athlete/actor/entertainment person gets a year...???

Plus Floyd does the basketball charity game eevery year, mostly benefitting inner city youths, Floyd had donated to St Judes Hospital, worked with Make-A-Wish, etc.

I agree with cst80 on this. Black on white crime (including officers being killed) happen all the time and a huge fuss is not made about it because then white people will be labeled racist and would for some reason look bad on the TV station . A lot of people do use the race card and many don't even have the slightest idea of the pain and struggle that african americans went through to establish their fteedom. Destroying property and stealing from buisness was such a horrible way to protest and just makes them look like a leach on society. As long as people try to blame everything on being "racist" then racism will exist. Why does it have to be that it's a racist thing, why can't it be that the cop was a hot head and maybe messed up and his individual actions do not represent a whole race of people?

I agree, however, as it relates to cops there are still policies and laws designed to target blacks and hispanics. This can be in the form of black cops targeting blacks. I think the distrust of law enforcement is justified. I do agree that the race card is played way too often, but that doesn't mean that it shouldn't be played when it is the right card. It should be used however with discretion. I've experienced several instances where it was applicable, but racism is not my default thought. I have had white guys call me nigg*er with malice, I have experienced a new hire(white guy) get days off that I and others(blacks) requested off first(I was a model employee), I have experienced being pulled over and treated like a criminal for no reason.

On the other hand, I have also experienced black people treat me bad and treat a white person better. I have experienced having cars stolen by black men. I have had a white guy stop and help me change a flat tire. My white neighbor came out to greet me the first day I moved into my neighborhood, and has been very helpful thus far. My black neighbors are very nice too. My childhood best friend is white. I have experienced great and poor customer service from blacks, whites, hispanics.

Overall, like you said, you can not use one person as a placeholder for an entire group of people. We are all just people.
