I agree, its not going to be the fight it could have been 5 years ago but both are on the decline and it should make for an interesting spectacle, if Fury has anything left then I think he should out box AJ

I don't mind Joshua v Fury ....... but I don't want to hear any nonsense about them being top 5 or top 10 heavyweights of this era.
Their era is passed. If they want to be regarded as contenders in 2026, they'll have to do better than fight each other.

Never rated Joshua highly and I do not believe, even in the final hole on the golf course, he is that bad taking rust into consideration.

If he did not carry Paul for 4 rounds then just retire and enjoy the huge haul of loot he has amassed over his career.

Both times he stepped up to fight live opponents he came up short and no shame in that.

Unfortunately for him, his legacy will be remembered by his two fights in the USA being battered by a little fat man in New York and going 6 rounds with youtuber Jake Paul.

The mountain of loot worth it all.

Jake could throw a jab, make use of the ring and dodge a punch. Certainly no worse than the likes of Bosh Fisher or Babic who were pushed on us.

His cardio let him down but he’s carrying excess muscle and being leaned on by a 6’6 bloke who weighs about 18 stone.

I think this puts to bed the delusion some people had that a midget like Gervonta Davis would have been able to do much against someone the size of Jake Paul.

I have been saying the same thing to my mates all week about Paul’s muscle, the propaganda machines have been telling us all week he is a natural cruiserweight, call me bat **** crazy but I think if he went down a proper boxing career path he would be a natural super middleweight or light heavyweight at most.

Yeah, Jake Paul, if he went down the usual pro-style weight-cutting road, is a 168 or 175 pounder, not a 200 pounder.

We should stop judging Paul by the standards of his early career. Put a Sunday league footballer training with a Premier League squad for a few years and he'll be a much better player. Paul's had elite-level training for years; you should hope he's a decent boxer by now. Let's see who his next fight is to see how serious he wants to be.

    Just watched the fight.

Fair props to JP as he took 2 absolute whallopers to the chin and stayed upright but once AJ stopped messing about in R5, the end was inevitable.

One thing I will say is that post fight on his way out back to the changing room, AJ was mobbed and he has absolutely gained a ton of new fans in America.

Glad that he called Fury out bigtime.

Anyway, onto the excellent fight tonight on BBC3 for Simpson v Williamson. Expect fireworks.

If it was rigged, then only the fighters could have been in on it. There’s no way everyone else could act that convincingly, especially the brother, Eddie, and the corner teams. That level of coordination just isn’t realistic without it showing or being leaked.

But midway through the fourth, I think Jake knew his destiny as the tank emptied, and to his credit he took it like a man.

He has got balls of steel. And he’s considerably better than the likes of Babic and numerous others who fight on big undercards.

Yup, he’s definitely game – and as @davidjay said, I think Jake Paul has clearly shown the difference between himself, Tommy Fury, and the rest of the crossover fighters. Jake’s worked up the levels: better coaches, real camps, elite sparring. Even in this camp, he brought in top-level rounds, and it shows in his composure and shot selection.

Tommy, on the other hand, feels like he’s gone the opposite way: focused on externals, looking the part, fighting down, stagnating, and regressing. If they ever boxed again, Jake would be miles ahead and would destroy him.

Jake’s on a completely different level from these other guys; maybe he fights Andrew Tate next and puts an end to the hype around him.

I think the difference between Paul and the others is, they're hard working fairly well educated people who know you get nothing for free. They roll the dice in many ways (given they got mainstream famous for laughing at a corpse and got over that!) and you can't fault their bravery.

Logan stars in WWE which despite being "pre-determined" has a higher injury and early-death rate than pretty much any other sport.

It would actually be fun for Eddie to get attached to this and start feeding the likes of Fisher for their big payday - much as I hate the whole promoter vs promoter nonsense, bringing Paul over to clean out Matchroom would be great fun. York Hall on a Fri night with 50m watching on Netflix.

I'd still like to see the fight and would fancy Fury via late stoppage currently.

Babic vs that Geordie Ivan Drago was a lot worse than anything I've seen from Jake Paul and that was on Sky. Paul probably wouldn't do much worse against Dave Allen than Johnny Fisher. He might even do better, because other than size and power, he looks like the superior boxer.
