That’s the **** I was thinking of, that Drago guy. Brutal. Would get iced in one round by AJ.

Truth is if Paul was no good, Chavez would have beaten him.

Yeah, I agree about the brothers.

I actually think Misfits have now properly spotted this gap in the market, especially looking at the card tonight. You’ve got a couple of crossover fights, Joe Laws brought in to get bashed up, and then one of the Vargas kids against a Misfits fighter who has shown decent technique in the past but is clearly vulnerable. It’s very deliberate matchmaking.

If Misfits and MVP ever merged, they’d pretty much have that entire crossover space sewn up. But it needs to stay separate from the mainstream sport, which is why I can’t really see Eddie touching it unless Matchroom were offered a massive standalone deal.

Is Misfits still guided by the Sauerlands? They probably make more off it, and have more fun with it, than they do with the real boxing on Channel 5 just now.

It's going to get interesting in the next 2-3 years with Saudi and Zuffa getting together to 'globalise' boxing, all the old school cartels with the sanctioning bodies, and the 'YouTuber" boxing finding a large mainstream niche. You can see the old school folk being squeezed out pretty fast if they're not careful. Casuals can't be hoodwinked by a Brit winning some alphabet "world" title in a world where boxing has a single top-tier body like UFC does, and maybe the British / European will make a comeback in importance. In a world without sanctioning cartels Conor Benn would be nothing.

It'd be fascinating seeing that happen with Warren (who very much elbowed in past the UK cartels, and rode the wave of the WBO for a while as the upstart) as he's probably tool old to change now, but the sons aren't daft. Suspect they'll melt into the background as managers and matchmakers rather than emulate their dad.

I’ve no real idea who actually runs or heads up Misfits. Tate seems front and centre these days, while KSI has gone MIA.

I think the Saudis can only disrupt boxing so far. Riyadh will never become the fight Mecca the way Vegas was, because everything that makes those fight weeks attractive to most fans, especially men, is banned unless you’re elite and effectively untouchable.

Warren will always survive. He’s got the heavyweight division locked up post-Usyk, and his sons are already embedded as managers, so Queensberry isn’t going anywhere. Hearn and Matchroom, on the other hand, would happily walk away if their price was met.

A proper breakaway league like the Premier League is never happening in boxing. There are too many variables, too much corruption, and if it were possible it would have happened by now. What we’ll keep getting is the same pattern: massive spectacle events, the top 0.01 percent taking 99.9 percent of the money, and professional boxing becoming even more niche.

The slack gets picked up by crossover outfits like BKFC and Misfits, but only when they have big names or serious social followings. That’s where the casual audience has gone.

It mirrors what’s happening with AI across society. The very best get richer and sharper, the worst get lazier and more exposed, and the entire middle tier eventually gets wiped the **** out and replaced. Boxing is heading the same way.

At the bottom of it all, Saudi and Zuffa is just the old system with vastly deeper pockets trying to lock in a monopoly. Minority rule dressed up as reform, and the threatened parties will simply close ranks.

Eventually we’ll probably end up with robot boxing like that Hugh Jackman film, and it’ll be Elon or some other elite group running the whole thing.

Cannot believe joshua isnt receiving pelters from the boxing fraternity.

He took 6 rounds of 8 to stop an area level light heavyweight that lost to a love islander.

AJ is the one laughing. A reported $75m coming to him for effectively sparring a rich boy competition prize winner. He could’ve taken him out at anytime, and effectively did with a highlight reel KO. His bank balance has risen, his profile in America has risen, interest in the Fury fight has risen and nobody is talking about the Dubois defeat anymore. People for some reason can’t see this for what it was and are reading what they want into it. I’m not an AJ fan but this was a pretty genius career move at this point.

Whilst I agree with everything here - people might not look so kindly in hindsight if he goes on to lose to Fury.

For now it's a successful cash grab and a more useful run-out than Ali vs Wepner or Inoki.

To be fair to Paul, he did not look any worse than Hughie Fury for the first 4 rounds.

Joshua and Hearn absolutely laughing at the critics.

Sensational pile of loot for very little risk or danger.

If only he had Hughie’s engine. We’d probably have seen Nakisa doing his best Mick Hennessy ‘what the **** is going on?’ impression had Jake been stiffed on the cards.

Like @CutThroatFade said, Joshua made millions, gained a massive following in America and people are talking about him fighting Fury. Great career move to be honest. The only fight I want to see him next in is against Fury. Would 100% sell out Wembley. Winner gets another shot, loser can sail off in the sunset.

As for Paul he showed hes got bollocks and he is game. He should definitely try and get the Tommy Fury rematch.

    AJ beats Fury.

Always thought so. Both when prime and now when both are slightly past their prime.

Let's see if Fury "un-retires" or if he bottles last nights Call Out.

Fury breaks Joshua’s heart. Probably a late stoppage.
