I think Scottish boxing is in doldrums these days due to the fact the big promoters are not interested in coming to Scotland even Ricky Burns has to box in England to make bigger money . Dunky you speak of Anderson McEwan they have to box in England and in McEwam case America as the money not hear any more since Scott Harrison no promoter is interested any more as the venues are half empty when boxing is hear . also Dunky once again in your opinion McEwan should dump Gary Young well I was under the impression it was a one off as Young was helping his freind .I would like him to go to Peter Harrison a proven champion trainer guys like Ricky Burns Willie Limond Alex Arthur Scott Harrison as that what you call a trainer in my opinion .

Well if its part of your career he should be more professional and took an expeienced coach instead of a pal in Gary imo.

 

Jules the trainers of Ricky Burns was Rab Bannon John McNair Peter Harrison and Billy Nelson
and Billy was Peter apprentice if you like but the trainer was Peter Harrison who trained Scot Harrison Alex Arthur Willie Limond Gary Young and Ricky Burn trained at the same time also guys like mathew Macklin came to train with Peter Harrison .now I am not saying anything bad about Billy I was given my opinion who I thought Graig McEwan should train with but to answer your question about billy helping yes he did as did John
but the trainer was Peter Harrison and not Billy Nelson just like now its Billy GYM and he is the trainer not John or any other person who is helping the buck stops with guy who is in the corner of the boxer thats the trainer

 

Billy I agree but unfortunate the person who claimed to be his trainer choose not to help him and as xmas is around the corner he needed the fight so ask his pal as you say

Sounds like nobody can beat Willie up over last night more than he is beating himself up.

Hopefully he has a good fight or two left in him. Some serious examination of what went wrong on Friday night needed though. Maybe he needs to adapt his training as the body can't take the same punishment at 32 years of age. Better to hold back a bit in training. Giving 100% all the time can be too much.

 

It as unfortunate Ricky had a WORLD title fight the same night mate,my point being you dont ask a friend to work your corner now do you?
Any coach in the same my position would have made the same choice im afraid,i made the right call and i did say the fight with Quillian wasnt the right move didnt i, i also tried to advise Craig but he choose not to take it im sure he wishes he had now.

 

Your so far wrong mate,Ricky burns never trained with Peter Harrison at any time or did he train alongside Scott or Alex.
Yes Rab trained Ricky until he got beat with CJ then he came to my gym so theres no way you can try and knock me mate,i done all of Scots.Alex and willies pad work ect whilst learning under Peter and i was fundemental in there training.
