I know it was disgrace for boxing, but man it was some riot and provided some classic moments like: Jim lampleys rather late act of Bravery for his daughter (man he would put superman to shame) That Guy in the Head Lock. his face was picture Golota: What A Bute George Foreman " Dont Do it Son" the poles and blacks were really going at it. Boxing would be mainstream again if some of our big time fighters scrapped like that where were you when it happened? Its amazing how there was no police there. if there was I doubt whether they would be able to keep it under control. fights were breaking out everywhere. I have been in a few riots while out. Nothing like this but I can tell you that the Cops were useless. I am not as knowledgable about the US cops. maybe they are better
I remember watching it and being amazed at how long the riots were going on. Pathetic security job by MSG. I also remember having a bad feeling about people dying in both Golota-Bowe fights. In the first fight, having a feeling that someone in the audience would be killed. In the rematch, Bowe.
I dont think that it would of been entertaining watching it live. but looking back know its rather entertaining
After the riots had already been going on for some time, he decided to try to act like he was doing some heroic deed of courage, saying something like "I have to go look for my daughter, she's somewhere in the arena" Hmm, shouldnt you have done that a little earlier?
:rofl I wouldn't say he was trying to act like he was being a hero and all tough. He was almost crying when he said it.
we couldnt see rock newman during the riot. he was always in the thick of the action when it went off at other bowe fights
another great moment that was not shown was before the fight. the referee gave golota a lecture about his past antics and said that he wouldnt stand for it tonight, andrew turned around and said "I will do what I have to do to win the fight" what a legend that Pole
Foreman actually protected Lampley from some thug. You can hear the Audio,. “ don’t do it son “. This was Foreman telling some thug to stay away from attacking Lampley. The riot was Rock Newman's fault. He let his goons enter the ring and attcked Golota's camp. I did fear for Duva when he went down.
My scraps of takes from that night: Pleasantly surprised to see Golota had the skills to give Bowe all he wanted. The repeat Golota low-blows that made me question his sanity. Rock Newman instigating the ensuing riot, I thought at the time only because his fighter had run out of answers. Lou Duva trying to play peacemaker, and whatever piece 'a **** it was that took a shot at him.
I wish one of those idiots had tried to attack Big George. That would've been something to see George flatten one of those "hooligans".
