Mt. Rushmore of Mexican Boxing Greats?

I'd put Margarito up there just to annoy people.
Great idea,but I reckon you'd have to go statistically and scientifically here which would exclude some of the more popular choices.
I've never been in doubt that Sanchez would've been the GMOAT,but it's a bit like the Bo Jackson argument,and would that put you on Sierra Rushmore?
And should Finito be excluded because he lacked big name opponents?
And Morales has no place on there if there's no Barrera.
Real thought provoking stuff.The kind of thing the best threads are made of.

Finito has been mentioned quite a few time, and as brilliant as he was, he DOES NOT belong in one of those 4 spots.

 

Canto deserves a better mention than someone like Finito. :deal

Chavez, Olivares, Sanchez, and Barrera

Perhaps in the minds of General Posters, but I'd hope the more educated fight fans would set their mind back a few years.

 

I think Chavez Sr. and Sanchez have to be there. The tough part is picking the other two.

Boxer's like Olivares, Saldivar and Canto, people don't even know what they look like. That makes it difficult to put them on the mountain statute.

 

People who DKSAMB wont, but people who do know their mexican boxing would have no problem.
