Dammm what a fight and what a comeback even better than the Corrales one what a fight people fan of the sport need to watch this fight.
It was back and forth from the get both mtagwa and villa throwing bombs. Mtagwa got caught in the ninth he went down and seem ready to go but somehow he managed hold on to the end of the round. Mtagwas trainer told the ref if he gets hurt again to stop the fight, so what happens mtagwa comes out and cracks villa with a right hook and villa goes down. Villa went on the defensive but mtagwa eventually knocked him down and the ref stopped the bout. Crazy fight. I was thinking corrales vs castillo all fight long but I think this surpassed it. Hopefully we get half the action tommorow night.
Agreed if these 2 guys were more higher profile everyone would be creaming themselves. I thought the fight was going to be stopped in Mtagwa's corner at the end of the 9th round he ha been dropped and rocked them. Then he comes out and lays it on villa and drops him twice and he wins the fight after being behind. Both guys just wung punches all night.

I haven't watched the fight yet (been stuck at work all day), but having seen both fighters multiple times before and knowing their respective skill levels, I have a hard time believing it was a better fight than Vasquez-Marquez III or Margarito-Cotto. A better brawl maybe, but there was probably a lot more blocking punches with faces involved than actual boxing. Part of what made Vasquez-Marquez great, IMO, was watching two masters go at it and still war like that even though they were playing speed chess in the ring.
Yeah for me izzy vs rafa 3 is hands down foty. For me cotto-margarito is overplayed by everyone, imo not a contender for foty
