    Round 7

Enríquez is mouth-breathing now, getting dusted on either brow with the rapid hooking flurries of Seitzhanov while goring his way in headfirst. Enríquez trying a reaching jab or fat hook from too far out and getting stuck with counter left hooks on the body as Seitzhanov plants his feet and gives it some torque. Enríquez lands a pair of power shots on the face snapping the head back as Seitzhanov gets overconfident in the pocket after landing another body hook.

10-9 Seitzhanov, close, finally Enríquez's fatigue has narrowed the gap and let him on the scoreboard IMO.

    69-64 Enríquez

    Round 8

Enríquez is tapping Seitzhanov on the left cheek - where a small mouse is developing - with left hooks coming up for air from a deep, head-downturned squat. Counter right hands and left hooks by Seitzhanov looming over Enríquez on his toes. Seitzhanov with another uppercut on the crotch and Enríquez sits against the corner turnbuckle for a minute to recover. The ref docks the point from Seitzhanov. Less than a minute later Seitzhanov lands a perfectly legit body uppercut and the ref gives him another warning; commentators rightfully call the ref out for it. "Nothing wrong with that shot at all!".

    9-9 (10-9 Seitzhanov minus a point)

    78-73 Enríquez

    Round 9

They clinch and Seitzhanov claps the nape of Enríquez's neck with a right hand. The ref is FURIOUS with him, that was as blatant a rabbit punch as can be. Wasn't ambiguous or heat of the moment in the slightest. They clinched, a full second passed, and Seitzhanov reached out his fist several inches behind Enríquez and let it recoil in like a tape measure. Commentators are laughing at Seitzhanov, "what are you doing man, you can't argue that one". Seitzhanov begins to land jabs and 1-2s on a downward plank into Enríquez's face while the Mexican ducks and undulates springily to either side, throwing hooks to body and head. They clinch and Seitzhanov bucks Enríquez off with a strong-arm, then lands a hard body hook. Enríquez is hurt but plays it off like it was low as the ref was on their blind side, but it cleary wasn't.

10-9 Seitzhanov, lucky to have dodged another foul deduction. Skirted the line all round.

    87-83 Enríquez

    Round 10

Enríquez is getting jolted with sharp down-jabs as he runs into Seitzhanov at low altitudes looking to sweep in body shots. There's a delay to fix tape on Enríquez's gloves. Time in, and Seitzhanov looks to have pumped himself up mentally for a strong final two minutes and change. Jabs on the face and hooks on the body from the Kazakh, sitting down on everything. There are frequent clinches, but there has been a 180° turn now from the first half of the contest as Enríquez is the one initiating them. Enríquez is hooking away up top with his left but either barely making contact or getting deflected off Seitzhanov's right arm while Seitzhanov himself lands hooks downstairs. The ref keeps prying them apart with Seitzhanov nodding at Enríquez and shrugging as if to say "not me, chief...at least not anymore". Seitzhanov jabbing and throwing shoeshine uppercut flurries at the face of Enríquez to back him into the ropes. Another clinch. Nice scooping right on the body from Seitzhanov as Enríquez tries for a big hook up top, missing.

    10-9 Seitzhanov

    96-93 Enríquez

Play by play guy has it 95-94 to Enríquez. He accedes that it was close but feels it'll be home cooking (or "boxing politics" in his own words) should it go Seitzhanov's way.

Neither commentator loves the decision but they're not looking to start a torch mob, and they're relieved that at least the judges had it appropriately close.

With a little better cardio, El Increible might have been able to hammer out the one more close round he needed to still have that zero intact. Oh well, he is only 22 and Seitzhanov only 23 himself. Time for both to improve, if they have adequate coaching.

If you want to watch & score this after work, @Fogger - it was a decent fight if you have a half an hour to kill. It wasn't brilliantly exciting or super high skill level or anything, and the commentators overrated it a little - but it was solid.

    Here goes...

José Rodolfo Macías Enríquez vs. Rai Bekmanatovich Seitzhanov 10 Rounds @ Light Welterweight

    Round 1 Macías 10-9

Macias came out ultra aggressive, set a blistering pace, staying in close and outwork Rai rather easily, with compact hooks around the guard, and the body.

    Round 2 Macias 10-9

Rai trying to get his jab on track, keep Macias off of him, but he's having none of it, Macias jabbing his way in as well, getting in range, and pounding his body, and throwing a decent overhand right as wel. Rai looking beaten down already, with a welt under his right eye.

    Round 3 Macias 10-9

Rai realizing he's not getting anywhere retreating, decides to go to to toe, and he still got outworked, with Macias finishing the far stronger of the two, again backing him to the ropes.

    Round 4 Macias 10-9

A very dominant round from Macias, he backed ai to teh ropes and teed off for pretty much the whole 3 minutes, Rai occasionally landing a decent counter, but Macias seemed to shake him up in the last minute.

    Round 5 Macias 10-9

Macias goes down from a ballshot early, he doesn't milk it. Macias pissed, nails him with a few one twos, prompting Rai to hold. Another low blow from the Kazakh. Macias gets in close, working the body with uppercuts. Rai just staying in close absorbing body blows for teh rest of the round.

    Round 6 Macias 10-9

Rai tried to get his jab and one two on track, but Macias just relentlessly looping overhand left hook to that badly swelled right eye of his, which is almost completely closed at this point. Macias at times doing a RJJ impression, with flashy lunging ambushes.

    Round 7 Macias 10-9

Both tired, Rai slipping shots a little better. But still, Macias is too active and accurate to even come close to losing the round, he rocked Rai late with a few looping overhands.

    Round 8 9-9

Damn close still, but Seitzhanov managed to land a handful of decent hooks and body shots. But the first round he barely wins on my card, he loses a point for another nutshot.

    Round 9 Seitzhanov 10-9

Rai almost losing another point, he received two hard warnings for rabbit punches. Macias is gassing pretty badly and miliking the minor fouls, Rai taking advantage and landed several one twos and hooks, along with a handful of nutshots the ref missed.

    Round 10 Seitzhanov 10-9

Rai a little fresher, bouncing on his toes, keeping him at range, jabbing well early, Macias closes the distance miway, and they're trading for remainder of the round, with less on Macias' shots and a little more on Rai's shots, nicks it for the Kazakh.

    97-92 Macias

Hell... even 98-91 would be fair.

The fact that they gave this to Seitzhanov is an abomination.:ohno

Have you checked out Lemos yet?:D
Gustavo Daniel Lemos: El Eléctrico The Argentine War Machine-The Porteño Castigador Of Tres Arroyos.

The man utterly wrecked Lee Selby last night and stopped him for the first time. Show him some love, you'll like his style. It's very Maidana-esque.
