What sewer did they scrape this Murray opponent out of?

Murray pounding Janjanin into submission under a heavy jab and then winging fat slow hooks around his elbows, digging into his sides. Murray struggling to press the pace consistently, blowing a little, resembling a late-career Danny Green. Far cry from the world class middleweight he used to be in his pomp, giving Martínez and Golovkin a hard time. :ohno

Janjanin showed up just to cash a check (while absorbing minimal punishment in the bargain).

Murray can't miss with even such nonsense as looping right hook leads from a distance with his feet still planted. Janjanin running until his back hits the ropes, then popping a weak perfunctory double jab and cross at Murray's face and diving in behind the 1-1-2 for a clinch, or falling back against the ropes and shelling up.

Murray content to just cruise along, snapping Janjanin's head back with jabs (and then jolting him extra hard with the odd change-up, a straight right on his 3rd eye). Murray's best work is on the body, where he is lobbing meaty hooks with his arms traveling in huge arcs, no concern about being countered. Janjanin seems to have iron ribs, as he's soaking those up by the boatload and not so much as taking a knee.

Should be a shutout for Murray.

Slađan Janjanin came in with four of his five losses by stoppage. The first of them was plenty forgivable, against Canadian puncher Steven "Bang Bang" Butler at 154lbs in 2016. The rest, though...absolute munters.

If he wanted to prove himself a force at SMW, then Murray really needed to have gotten rid of him. Hurling the kitchen sink at him and not completing the job means the jig should be about up for the now 37 year old. :shakehead:

And just think the co-main event is an even bigger mismatch.

The contest is scored by referee Mark License, a clean 80-72 for Martin Murray.

How do you know? Fielding isn't some world-beater; let's bear in mind he didn't last three minutes with Mundo and his best wins are close scrapes over Ryder and Rebrasse (both via SD).

Pazzy's only blowout loss, as @Chuck Norris mentioned earlier, was against Salamov, who can potentially smash through anyone that isn't a runner.

I said years ago, even before he was exposed by Smith, that Fielding was basically another Frank Buglioni, maybe slightly better. Sells a lot of tickets, decent up to a certain regional level, but against stiff international competition he'll be shown lacking.

I'm suspicious of anyone inflating him as something more (usually Canelo fans desperate to vicariously pump up their boy)

Chuck Norris and Big Ukrainian like this.

Murray's kid is right handsome, makes his dad look ordinary, guess the mum has the ubermensch genes; lad must have shagged half the girls in his * class by now.

*What's the UK equivalent of 5th grade? Second form or something?

I like how the ring announcer tactfully introduced him...

"Tonight, making his twentieth appearance in the ring! :)"

If nothing else, "Live Wire Maguire" is good for some rounds. Only been stopped thrice in those 18 losses.

    Ah, yes. That one is.

Let's see, what's been Durán's biggest step up in class...

A loss to Rod Salka.

Maguire did seem a tad bothered in the first. Maybe just a cold start, or else Hyland is a diamond in the rough. Seems to be a quick, powerful and fluid-punching southpaw - very sharp for his pro debut, but early days yet.
