20-18 Hyland, really composed effort.

 

Fair play to Maguire, he weathered some big hooking combos in the first half of round 3 and then began to insinuate himself into Hyland's wheelhouse, using serpentine upper body movement to wriggle up close and pop some light right jabs on the nose.

On that note, for a southpaw versus southpaw contest this has been pretty clean, not the ugliness you'd generally expect from that arrangement.

Hyland is, by default, ranked dead last in the UK super flyweight rankings on BoxRec (as their computerized system is points-based, and by simple virtue of making his pro debut here is yet to accrue so much as one point) ...#16 of 16, but I have to say, based on what a total package he looks off the bat I already think he could within a year be a nightmare for the #1 (Kal Yafai, whom I happen to feel is ridiculously overrated)

 

Yeah, turned into a brawl...just as I was about to commend Hyland on three rounds' worth of admirable discipline for a rookie.

 

I'll throw Maguire a pity 10-10 round.
