It seems both MTK and ESPN+ are having technical difficulties at the moment, so they're holding off starting the next fight. I believe only McCullagh vs. Thomas has taken place so far.

 

Sorted now, YT feed at least is up & running.

 

ESPN+ still has a message up saying "we're going to get this fixed ASAP. Thank you for your patience."

So...guess we have to wait on them, even though MTK is ready to roll?

I just don't understand how two different broadcasters for the same live card were murked at the same time. Unless they're splitting one video feed and just slapping different commentary on it.

I saw that on BoxRec the other day and thought 'oh, cool, a confidence-builder for Ndongeni before he makes his way back to a big international fight'.

Paul Butler vs. Ryan Walker, 8 rounds @ bantamweight

 

Both men have suffered two defeats but their experience and W columns (Butler 31, Walker 11) as well as their past opposition quality are worlds apart.

Butler is a former world titlist whom you may remember for his losses to Zolani Tete and Emmanuel Rodríguez and his pair of victories over Stuey Hall.

 

Round 1

Butler is popping a nice double jab into the face, and then spanks Walker on the far side with a low water-gourd right hand. Butler keeping in Walker's chest and banging him with right hands up top behind the jab. Walker is loading up on bow & arrow 1-2s, pushing the jab and telegaphing with the right on a triangular upward trajectory rather than straight. Butler easily slipping his shots and stepping in to counter with authority. Walker clinches and is warned for it. Butler keeps pressing in, rolling in past the Walker jab, letting it whistle past his neck as he scores his own straight punches. Butler with a nice jab on the face and cross on the waistband. Butler just a lot sharper and surer-handed than Walker.

Expecting this ends well inside schedule, if Butler keeps putting the screws to him like this. Big disparity in class. Par is five rounds if he wants to best Lee McGregor's result against Walker.
