Warby actually winning the fourth round, some clever defense folding up his long arms and leaning away at diagonals, then rebounding with sneaky uppercuts that Whittaker doesn't see coming in.

39-37 Whittaker is my coarse-grained score, although I have to be honest, my attention wasn't fully on most of this.

They're handing Warburton a trophy (actually two small trophies, each fashioned into a Roman centurion's helmet with a red plume ...get it, eh, double centurion? ) for servicing British boxing with two hundred bouts.

 

Ross Cooksey vs. Richard Ian Starkey, 4 rounds @ super featherweight

 

Ricky "The Battalion Stallion" Cooksey is a much lower class of journeyman than Warburton. He won his first two contests and is 0-16-2 since then, knocked out 7x.

 

Ugh, the last fight wasn't exactly a thing of beauty but this one is a right slopbucket. They just keep missing and clinching.

 

Next up is what probably ought to be the main event, tbh.

 

Adam Hague vs. Jordan Ellison, 6 rounds @ light welterweight

 

Ellison game as hell; wins the first on my card. Hitman Hague can't seem to adapt to this much movement, and has a deer in the headlights look when Ellison flanks him and comes flying in with long belting shots. Hague only getting in a few odd rights on the body at range when things are calm & settled.

 

This will probably wind up having been the best and most competitive fight on the card.

 

Both have gassed by midway, 4th pocked by mutual hugging.

Raza Hamza vs. Khvicha Gigolashvili, 6 rounds @ super featherweight

 

^that one sucked. Hamza won.
