I watched it. Other bloke had no interest in winning, but that’s why he gets paid. He started to throw a bit in the last couple of rounds. He kept laughing at Murrel’s shots as well. Wasn’t a good watch at all

Is Murrell actually any good or just got a bit of a profile because he's Dave Allen's mate?

As far as I'm aware he was a jobless young lad that Allen took under his wing. Without Allen that's probably all he'd be but now he's a pro boxer with little amateur experience essentially learning on the job but, bizarrely, in the eyes of the public because that's the reason he is a professional boxer in the first place, from what people have seen on the Internet.

Good luck to him, some people just sit in front of a webcam and wait for people to throw money at them, some female bodybuilders with silicone implants have 4 fights, sell soiled underwear and then get World Title shots, thanks to social media the World is a more weird place but if this lad can make a few quid getting in a ring and risking his health then good luck to him.

Hennessey thought it was shades of Lewis v Vitali on that uppercut.

Literally just pushed his arm up a bit hasn't he. Desperate stuff.

I watched it last night and thought the lad done well. He showed good movement throughout slipping off to the sides and you can tell afterwards he was over the moon to have made his debut.

He’s young and needs to physically mature, that’s clear to see so its obvious that he will be moved very slowly and the type of opponent he faced yesterday will be the same for some while. His opponent looked massive in there next to him but I think Murrell did only have 2 or so weeks notice and is aware that he needs to get his weight down but it sounds like he’s happy to dedicate himself now the ball is rolling on the pro journey…. He mentioned being back in the ingle gym the very next day.

Believe he also set the record for most viewers of an MTK show with over 12,000 watching his fight so they’ll be happy with that.

He’s a young 18 year old kid that’s clearly a big boxing fan and buzzing just to be in there, can’t knock someone for living out there dream… if he’s going to dedicate himself then good luck to him.

No idea how these mtk shows are making money...

Smells of a tax write off or something else!

I was listening to Dave Allen speak on his IG stories last night after the fight. He kept saying that the focus for now is on making sure Danny’s movement and footwork is perfect. He said, and quote: “anyone can learn how to hit someone”. He was basically going on about how punching with power and even learning proper punching technique is not important at this stage in his development.

I’d agree if Danny was still fighting amateur but you need to be able to at least throw with conviction. Otherwise one of his future opponents will just take him into a dogfight and outpower him.

You get some kids who develop really well physically as teens and you get some kids who just have no physical development at all from an athletic standpoint and Danny is definitely in the latter.

Anyway Dave said he wants him to cut weight now and fight again in December.

Like I said good luck to Danny but he’s really out of his depth physically.

Have a look at his IG page. He’s a competent amateur boxer with decent skill set. He’s been training at the Ingle Gym and there’s footage of him sparring Galahad on YouTube. No doubt Galahad was taking it easy though.

I can definitely relate to this. I was no heavier than 11 stone until I got to my mid 20's. I could eat right and train hard but I would barely put any weight on. That said I used to throw big lumps around the pitch playing centre back, lift a lot more than my mates who were bigger than me, I just looked like the McDonnell triplet!

    exactly this.

No fans and putting fights on youtube on IFL for free. How do they pay the fighters and all of the testing and sanctioning fees. baffling

I watched it today, thought young Danny looked good. He can clearly box and looks clever for a young lad. He put some decent shots in too, but didn't really hurt Dale who's a solid journeyman.

He will take around 5 years to physically mature but if he isn't rushed he'll come along well. Journeymen only for the foreseeable, learn the job.

I'm not sold, I think there is a hell of lot to do, yeah yeah OK he is young, he has time, I personally don't think this ends well but if he proves me wrong then good luck to him.

Also, all this just doesn't sit well with me, he shouldn't really be getting this much attention for being Dave "Walking Punchbag" Allens special friend.

Has this what British Boxing has come to? A special friend who works with Matchroom and has a little bit of a following and a few IFL interviews and suddenly you're a "Story"..

Or did I miss him winning European or Olympic Gold?
