What is everyone's thoughts about Muay Thai compared to Dutch kickboxing, they both have alot in common and some differences, not really so much the fighters but training methods

The dutch use the same foundation of devastating knees and elbows especially in the clinch..Though I think Dutch style has evolved more with slicker use of punching...

Most Thais(not all) are lil weak with there hands...Oz's very own John Wayne Parr usually has won all his big fights through superior hands against his Thai counterparts..

Dutch fighters are better combination punchers......Thai fighters are better with kicks....

Just on the back of golden glory you would have to think the Dutch are the best kick boxers in the world.

Golden Glory don't have a shabby clinch either. Reem can brutalise you from it.

The rules they fight in are very different so its hard to say which is 'better'. Like everyone has said, Dutch style seems to founded on the same idea of devastating knees and kicks but they also do a good job of incorporating punches.

Dutch are better at punching and Thais are better at kicking to put it very basically.

Prior to Westerners discovering Thai there really was no heavyweight scene in the sport. Your average fit Thai fighter wouldn't see above 75kg with the bulk being the 55 to 70 divisions.

The Dutch were one of the first to travel in numbers and then bring back that experience to Holland. Having a stronger focus on upper body work and punching, lack of elbow fights being made, different builds to Thai's and the local Kyokushin influence all lead to the Dutch flavor being established.

True. Its hard to make comparisons but K1 used to let them go into the Muay Thai plum before making it one hand only. Even then then golden glory always seemed to dominate.

Maybe the Thais didn't want to commit to anything outside of Thailand. They love their stadium brawls.

Then again I doubt the biggest Thai could ever make heavyweight.

What Muay Thai championship pays more than a few thousand dollars compared to K-1 money?

Golden Glory is a front for an elite Dutch Homosexual Sex Club.

I worked this out when I saw Rob Kaman doing ***gy dancing as part of some bull**** passing the torch ceremony, where obviously the "torch" was symbolic of a *****.
