I knew before the fight that Santos was a very dangerous opponent and that he was the best fighter Alcine ever fought. I knew also that he was very underated and that he had very good wins against very good opposition. Despite all that, I tought Alcine would win this fight based on Santos' age and innactivity and I also tought that the style matchup was favouring Alcine.

Unfortunatly, I was completly wrong and this was obvious to me from the first minute as Alcine was very tentative and seemed unable to mount an efficient attack because of Santos' southpaw stance and counterpunching skill were troubling him. I knew that Alcine would have trouble finding the target all night and it was obvious to me that Santos was in control.

I started hopping as Alcine came back to win a few rounds and took the lead 3-2 on my scorecard but as a boxer myself I was noticing a bit of overconfidence in Alcine's game as he was negleting his defense and was opening himself to a left hand counter when he was coming in to throw a combination. I was thinking that Santos would time him at one point and that it was only a matter of time. It happened in the middle of the 6th round and I knew Alcine wasn't going to get up. He was out.

So for coming to Montreal and KOing his opponent like that I want to give Santos the props he diserves as he prepared himself extremly well for this fight and really fought a great fight. I also want to say he is a gentleman and was really respectful to Alcine and to the fans since he came here....

So much props to Daniel Santos and I hope to see him in against Sergio Mora so he can kick his ass back to the contender.

For Alcine, he is a great man and I hope he can get his career back on track and that he won't be too affected my that knockout loss. I would like to see him in against Alex Bunema who also won tonight as he scored a knockout against Walter Mathysse. This would be a crossroad fight beetween a guy who wants to get to the top and a guy who wants to get back there...

Anyways, it was a long post so thx for reading...

**** yeah, major props to Santos. I also thought this was a dangerous fight for Alcine because of the styles clash, Santos is a very good boxer-puncher. And I too expected Alcine to win based on Santos age and inactivity.

This guy can fight, always been a good fighter but lazy and inconsistant.

I think Alcine would have needed to give more angles and create more movement around a talented lefty like Santos.

He didn't have an answer for the straight left from round one...That's mainly because he is not fast enough on his feet and he moves robotically in a very predictable fashion...

The better fighter won, there's no doubt !

Demers a le talent pour, c'est certain, il doit juste suivre son plan de match a la LETTRE..car Demers n'a pas un chin si MAUVAIS que sa..mais avec la force de frappe de Zuniga, il peut pas niaiser

Damnit. Now Bute and Molitor are the only Canadian champs left. Im not to worried about Molitor unless he fought Vazquez or Marquez, but Bute on the other hand... Andrade is very similar to Santos in a way.

    Not similar in any way.

Bute is to Andrade what Santos was to Alcine. A fast, powerful southpaw will always beat a standup boxer of the same size and strength.

Well almost. Tszyu-Judah was an anomaly of a pretty regular outcome.

Andrade is very very hungry so Bute better be as good as Kessler was.
