Prior to the fight (Green/RJJ) I was looking forward to the match up (RJJ/Hops) given roys performance against lacy it seemed like it could be good..... but really Greens 1 round KO has left me with no desire to see Hops and RJJ get it on. Time for Roy to hang em up and ride off into the sunset as a legend.. I think Green / Hops would actually be a really exciting fight...not that Hops needs to fight Green or any one else for that matter, he is in my opinion and ATG but Green would bring a much more exciting match up style wise. I'm an Aussie yes but would favor Hopkins in a UD "but" also wouldn't be all that shocked of Green did KO him. Green is a tough SOB and has improved at the higher weights. Green is a hard night for anyone.
Bhop should fight dawson or admeck if he does not hang them up Green is a solid fighter but i really do not see the point of that fight. I think he should hang 'em up myself and protect his legacy.
Is the RJJ/Bhop fight actually going to happen still??? RJJ should have picked a much easier fight as a warm up, just like Hopkins did. He really screwed himself. I cant imagine anyone getting too excited to see this now.
I agree it took some balls to fight Green at this stage ..But hey Jones is a legend ..At least in a fight with Hopkins power wont be something he has to worry about.
I would also rather see Hopkins/Green, but we do not have a choice. Hopkins and Jones are the ones deciding this. Too bad.
Hell, yes!! Hops vs Green would be outstanding!! It won't happen though. Green retired mainly because of injury, but another well known reason why he decided to hang up the gloves for the first time was because he couldn't get anyone to fight him. The Green vs Toney sparring sessions are legend now. After seeing that, I didn't think anyone in their right mind would choose to fight Danny Green without a title. So...I now pose the question...What on Earth was Jones thinking? This guy has always been very underrated. He has always had power in both hands and looks like he still is one of the hardest pound for pound punchers in the sport. Hops isn't going near this guy if he's smart...and he is that smart.
