Really? Boxing has the Ali act. The UFC were/are completely opposed to the act. Whilst this is a great step in the right direction looking at it from a thousand feet in the air, its obviously not best to compare a SPORT with a FRANCHISE. It's in the UFC best interest to offer its fighter insurance now. Seeing as they control they control virtually the entire sport of MMA.
Do boxers have accident insurance? :think And how is it in only their best interests now? They've clearly been working on this for years. Surely to go by your and all the other antii-monoployists logic they should be undermining the terms and conditions of fighters and taking 'perks' away?
They're probably doing this now for PR purposes. All the same to me, considering the fighters benefit, but if the UFC wants a monopoly it will have to increase its responsibility to its fighters.
man stop comparing mma to boxing **** is getting old its comparing apples and oranges if you dont have anything constructive **** to say dont say it.
Don't try to infer something i never insinuated. The UFC needs STAR's. That was one of the main reasons for the SF acquisition. Keeping those stars healthy is important to the brand, and the exposure the UFC need's if it wants to continue growing. Also it allows them to continue to retain their talent as well as entice more talent from other organisations. Naturally of course it allows the UFC to increase what is already a monopolization on this sport. Im fairly certain Randy Coutures plans for a fighter union have are probably now dead in the water.
