Muhamed Ali vs Rocky Marciano prime for prime

This. Ali wouldn't play with Marciano. He tears up his skin with crisp one two's. The kind Frazier walked through.

 

Did Marciano ever face a decent heavy who was prime?

 

Here is the crux of it.

Ali is the greater fighter, but Marciano has the style to give him hell, just as Frazier did.

This would be a 50/50 type fight.

 

I cant see that myself ,I think Marciano gets a beating here and is stopped on cuts.

 

He fought decent heavies who were prime .Ali fought and beat great ones.

Here I must give my honest interpretations:

Bigger - Yes.
Faster with hands and feet - Yes.
20 pounds heavier - So is my auntie.
Stronger - No.
Harder puncher - No
Harder to outbox - Hmmmm. Perhaps, in as much as it is relevant.
Better pressure fighter - Debatable.
Better chin - No.

 

Rocky had two fisted power which is what has always persuaded me why he beats Frazier.

 

I feel that Marciano would get brutalized by a prime youthful Ali. The Ali's from Manilla and the like would be in for a long night, but still might pull it off. I just can't envision Rocky getting to a Prime Ali, just can't.
