now rack your brain explaining how you think, based on what you've seen from both fighters, Ali would ever be in Tyson's punching range, and, in one of the few cases where he was in Tyson's punching range, how one of the most concrete and well tested jaws of the 20th century would give in? or are you just a deranged tyson fan?

Joe Calzaghe is NOT Ali and Lacy is NOT Tyson (despite the pre-fight comparisons).

However, there is a good possibility that an Ali-Tyson fight would proceed along the same lines.

Tyson has a chance to stop Ali in the first couple of rounds. After that, time is not on his side.

Ali by wide UD or late stoppage.

I never said tyson chin was questionable or he had stamina problems but after a long tough greulling fight that he would be mentaly and pysicaly be taking to much punishment and that the referee would step in call the fight of with tyson not having gone down.

    ali-TKO 14.

he takes over completely in the 12th and only tyson great chin saves him for another two rounds. close for the first 8, competitive for the next 4 but the outcome is rarely in doubt past the 6th.

I have to go with Iron Mike Tyson. Mike is a beast and I don't think that anyone could beat Mike during his prime. Ali has good footwork and good speed but I think that Mike will catch him and land a clean crispy hook to the body and an upper-cut to the head that will damage Ali heavily. Remember that Mike Tyson's speed (head and body movement) is incredible and both his hands have power in them.

Ali will be forced to fight with his backfoot and try to counter but Mike will avoid Ali's counters and throw punches of his own.

Tyson will KO Ali in the middle rounds.

i have to disagree on two points:

1)ali had GREAT footwork and GREAT speed. best footwork since and past benny leonard and the fastest ever hands at heavy. even faster than mike's

2)ali will fight off the backfoot but that's how he fought most in his prime, at least for the first 6. tyson would come forward but would be kept at distance and drilled with that jab, probably closing an eye. past the 6th ali would step on the gas and begin attacking in short, accurate bursts. he wouldn't really need or want to try and counter with someone who has that speed AND power

ali would box Tysons ears off, tormenting him till he cracks around the 6th or 7th & aki TKO's him

i think Bruce Seldon Would Beat Them Both!
    :)
    JOKE

True Lewis did push him down...but i guess Old Mikey Never got up either
although Tyson did connect a good strong jab which backed LL up in the first round and a nice hook, he was just too old, too fat and way out of his depth in this fight, he still fought bravely and his prime (yes those magic words) Tyson would have beat Lennox either by KO, TKO, or UD
...to those who called him a coward...just like all his losses he always took his beating like a man...there was never a NO MAS in Tyson
Who said Lacy Vs Calzaghe = Tyson Vs Ali? Lacy is/was NEVER Tyson And Calzaghe is/was NEVER Ali.

.....Regardless Of Who Would Have Fun
    Lets Put It This Way
Theres A Reason Why People Will Forever Talk About.....Ali And Tyson

have to favor ali but you cannot dismiss tyson's chances. mike tyson would be the dangerous offensive fighter ali would have ever faced. while ali is faster, tyson is that much slower. and even a prime ali had technical flaws like pulling his head straight back and dropping his hands. this could be very dangerous vs. tyson. remember henry cooper nearly knocked ali out. dundee had rips ali gloves to give him more time to recover. a guy as offensively talented like tyson can cause big problems for ali. prediction, ali by ud but he might have to pick himself off the canvas to do it.

Tyson has the stylistic edge in this fight, but Ali would humiliate, frustrate, and destroy Tyson's awful mental game. Ali stops him, I think
