Inspired by Devon's Ali/Liston reversal bout.

The Ali of 30 years old v the 38 year old Holmes who came out of retirement to fight Mike Tyson.

This is n't so much about who would win - it's an absolute no brainer but would Holmes have managed to have lasted the distance?

Yes, I don't think Ali could have put him out.

I see Ali's jabs and crosses puffing up a gutsy Holmes' face and eyes until the latter could n't see his opponent's shots coming. A compassionate Ali tells the referee to stop the fight like he did in the second Jerry Quarry bout around the tenth round. That's if the referee does n't halt the contest before Muhammad calls on him to.

I very much doubt any other than perhaps absolute peak Ali stops this Holmes.

Only an ATG puncher in prime Tyson could stop Holmes. Holmes makes it to the end and does better than many expect.

Ali late TKO. Despite doing little, Holmes was starting to gas in the 4th which is what led to him getting caught against Tyson.

He’ll be utterly exhausted against Ali in the late rounds and be a sitting duck for his best punches.

Even in his prime, he was getting dropped by the likes of Renaldo Snipes, and his durability only declined ten years later so let’s not act like “Only Tyson stops an ‘88 Holmes lolz”.
