Referee discretion is absolutely sacred.

No commission anywhere with a storied boxing history would retroactively turn a fight into a DQ.

An NC is what happens when PEDS are used. Period.

And an NC doesn't erase the memory of what happened in the fight. W or NC, Ali got up from a heavy KD and tore Cooper's face to pieces. He then did it again in the rematch.

He's the better man h2h, and his legacy doesn't suffer. Doesn't matter much.

 

They were smelling salts, illegal in boxing, and they were used but are not PEDS.

But besides Ali his out of the world footspeed, his second best thing he had as a boxer was simply his facial structure.
