There are some real 'tards out there.

 At the guy saying 'I was there' for Clay-Cooper I even though it's been proven countless times that the gloves were barely an issue.

by that logic then many fighters should have losses to their name.

tyson shoulda lost to savarese, in fact tyson shoulda had at least 10 more losses on his record. And dont start me on Holyfield, who shoulda lost half his fights

Conteh should never have won a fight.

Floyd Mayweather shoving his elbow into Hatton's face=instant loss

Hatton was apparently trying to headbutt Floyd and it's funny some people instead of admitting that Ali used banned substances aka PEDs to win a fight, you keep pointing at someone else and saying "ok Ali did this, but look at him!".

Says who? Source? All I hear about it, whenever the subject is brought up, is that smelling salts were illegal to use in boxing in England at the time. No one seemed to question that either so I assumed it's true.

Did the smelling salts help Ali recover after taking the left hook that knocked him down?

it's not about headbutts but about use of PEDs and/or banned substances. I want more people to vote on this.

There's not much of a story here really. Smelling salts were allowed in US rings at the time, Dundee was just doing what he was accustomed to do when a fighter returned to his corner after a knockdown. You can call them a PED in the same way that you can call coffee a PED, but they're not actually that effective. The fumes irritate the nasal membranes, causing an inhalation reflex, they're not a cure for concussion. They may wake you up a bit but if your balance and vision are gone they won't help you.

When Ali came bouncing out of his corner at the start of the fifth and quickly finished the fight, it wasn't because of smelling salts, it was because he just wasn't that badly hurt in the first place, and that's obvious from watching the film. When he falls he looks up, directly at his opponent, looking resentful more than anything else. He gets up immediately without any difficulty at all and walks unaided and without hesitation to his corner. Yes, he was dazed, but the idea that he was saved by the bell from a virtually certain knockout is just wishful thinking.

2 can play that childish game.

Did Clay hit Cooper so often in the 5th round that his faced was bloodstained and he could no longer continue?

This forum is a revolving door for blatant anti-Ali agendas/delusionists.
