    Happy Christmas!

You think Corrie Sanders would have knocked out any version of Ali?

You must be the only guy in the world who doesn't think Ali's prime was in the 60's.

In 1974, he was an old 32 year old. He aged very quickly and took huge punishment in training etc. He'd got many miles on the clock at that stage.

You have to understand that Ali was incredibly brave/stupid when he signed to fight Foreman. His whole strategy was to goad Foreman, and to let him burn himself out. It took incredible guts to let a monster like George pound away at him. Ali after two rounds, voluntarily leant against the ropes, to execute his plan.

Ali knew that it was the only way to beat him. He knew that he couldn't dance for 15 rounds. He didn't have the legs. He knew he'd get tired, and would probably end up getting stopped. He's said that many times. If Ali had've fought George before his ban, at 25, he'd have tried to box him over 15 rounds, like he did in the first round of the Jungle.

    1. A prime 25 year old Ali, never fought Norton.

    2. Wlad has never faced anyone with the footwork of Ali. Haye who is static in comparison, troubled Wlad with his movement. Wlad couldn't land clean even when Haye was on the ropes. Ali would have danced in out or range, and Wlad would have had a nightmare trying to set himself.

Haye was usually diving to the canvas

If Karl Mildenbarger, Henry Cooper could land decent punches on Ali why couldn't Klitschko who is far more talented than either of those two?

You've used poor analogies all throughout this thread.

    Styles and circumstances make fights.

We're having a debate, with regards to both fighters at their peak.

Cooper caught a young Cassius Clay napping.

Karl Mildenburger was a southpaw, who Ali fought over 15 rounds, just a month after he'd fought Brian London over 15. Mildenburger caused Ali a few problems, but it proves nothing.

Haye frustrated Wlad with his movement, and Haye has minimal movement compared to Ali. Go and watch them. You don't seem to realise how important footwork is for a fighter. People have this idea that Haye is fast. With his hands, yes. He can throw a quick one-two. But he hasn't got fast feet. If Wlad had trouble landing flush on Haye, while he was pressed on the ropes, it's clear that Ali's movement in the centre of the ring, would have been a nightmare for him.

How often does Wlad throw combos?

How often does he double the hooks?

How often does he uppercut, and go to the body etc?

He favours a jab and a right cross, and then he initiates a clinch.

How would he have set himself against a guy bouncing on his toes, in and out if range?

Haye and Byrd etc, do not possess the same overall movement as a pre ban Ali.

We have all the evidence to hand, to realise that Wlad would have been greatly troubled by Ali's footwork.

Glover/Tommo, we've been here so many times.

I remember that you told me that you boxed.

Which has to be complete nonsense, when you consider footwork as running away.

We might as well leave it there.

How can you even hope to have a debate with someone when you say Ali ran away?

    It's a joke.

Footwork is a beautiful thing in boxing that opens many doors.

Footwork and feinting, can make a guy miss or off balance. Then they can be countered. Ali danced in and out of range, he circled and came at angles etc.

He didn't run away. He controlled the pace and the distance.

Explain to me (and be specific) how Wlad could have employed his favoured one-two on a 215 pound guy, who was constantly moving?

Seriously, how successful would he have been?

If he couldn't land flush on a guy that was just inches away from him, who just used upper body movement to elude him, then how could he have landed flush against a guy who would have been a few feet away from him, with upper body movement, as well as fantastic footwork?

I don't want to hear about Cooper etc. Tell me how Wlad could have done it.

If Sanders, Puritty and Brewster could beat Wlad. Why couldn't Ali who is far more talented than any of those three?

Ali went life and death with 188lb Doug Jones. Jones was not troubled by Ali's movement at all.

Styles make fights. Ali was vulnerable to left hooks and left hook is the best punch in Wlad's arsenal. Sonny Banks, Cooper and Frazier dropped Ali with left hooks. Norton broke his jaw with left hooks. Wlad would do a number on Ali with jabs and left hooks and most likely drop him a few times as well.

so what exactly did Klitschko do fighting Derrick Jefferson, Monte Barrett, Samuel Peter, Chris Byrd to win? If you say that he jabbed and grabbed in all those fights, I say you didn't watch the fights or have no idea of anything in boxing.

Guys, under fire only one of the two prevailed in their biggest fights. Only one was stopped in their prime 3 times, and only one fights dirty. Only one of the two has a chin, and only one of the two has pure guts. You can talk about Purrity, Sanders, Norton, Cooper, Brewster, Spinks, Frazier, and others, but one never was ko'd in a fight, and only one lost by stoppage against a prime future atg heavy.

    You draw it up.

    Ali best ever!

Elroy, come to the classic and face the music. Youre as bad as your idol Mayweather when it comes to ducking people....

Come back and back up all the **** you talked son. Start with the Frazier vs Ibragimov thread I started in your honor.

Don't be a coward. I know your impulsive, idiotic fingers typed all kinds of checks your knowledge base and real logic and common sense can't cash, but face the music, son.
