Chuck was an all time great. He tought a green Foreman everything he knows about boxing. Without him as an early fight, Foreman would have gone the way of George scrap iron Johnson. Sonny Liston needed a win to keep his comeback alive. Wpner, who was pounding on him, decided to give him a break and let him win. As soon as Liston heard that Wepner took pitty on him, he killed himself. Ali proved himself the greates of all time by coming back from a knockdown and a thrashing to barely stop Wepner in the 15th. Chuck's loss was attributed to the fact that he was single handedly winning wars for the mob rather than training. He then inspired the greatest movie of all time in Rocky.

I Saw Chuck Fight On A Lot Of Undercards, I Know I Saw At Least 2 Fights With Randy Newman, He Was One Of The Most Boring Trial Horses I Have Ever Seen, He Was Slow, really Lack Power, Had No Snap To His Punches And Walked Into The Ring Bleeding But He Had Heart And Tried To Use His Limited Abilty To His Best. I Love Boxing But He Was Tex Cobb With No Power In Slowmotion And When You Watched Him Fight It Would Gag A Maggott From Bore And Blood, Mostly Bore

It was awarded by the fight doctors in gratitude for the practice they got sewing him up.Slow and crude, but undeniably brave, good old Chuck.

Yeah, all kidding asside he sucked.

Chuck was just a journeyman/clubfighter who happened to be in the right place at the right time to get some of his opportunities agains named opponents. The mafia helped out with that of course. He did manage to get a decision win over an aging Earnie Terrell, but I've often heard people call the fight a robbery ( though I've never seen it.) If George Foreman had more than 3 fights and Sonny Liston was several years younger, he wouldn't have made it out of the first round against either. Apparently, Wepner tried to sue Stallone for publicly claiming that the big hit Rocky was inspired by Wepner, but Chuck never got anything for the story being made. I guess Stallone wound up settling with him for an amount that was undisclosed. Chuck should have called it quits long before he did.
