It's funny you should say that.. Erm then again no it isn't. Keep practicing mate, don't worry I won't give up on you that easily.
so then how do you equate your obvious love and admiration of the "great diego maradona" and the greatest goal ever against england with his blatant and deliberate cheating for the first goal.where have your morals gone in this instance?
The blatant & deliberate cheating of the 1st goal was there for all to see. It was an injustice yes, but the 2nd goal was a goal of such individual brilliance, wonder and beauty that (for me) it eclipsed every other goal scored in the history of the game. The 1st goal (Mano De Dios) was lucky and Argentina were fortunate the ref allowed it to stand, in the same way as the ref/linesman allowed Englands controversial against Germany goal in '66. I like Maradona's hand of god goal because it was ironic that he being the shortest player on the field was able to out jump the towering Shilton and get to the ball before him. Plus the fact that the the goal was 2 fingers up to all the patriotic English and their unfair taking of the Falkland Islands. I respected Maradona for what he achieved that day.
Well there are probably more Englishmen who would prefer to have been defeated by Argentina in the Falklands conflict than to lose that match in '86.
No not at all. I have a problem with racist hooligans (albeit a small minority of English fans). I also have a problem with the foriegn policy of England and the history of it's ammassing of wealth from stealing and invading poorer countries. Having said that I have the same problem with the foriegn policy of the US at the moment. However, that does not make me want the US basketball team lose at the next olympics, as their fans generally know how to behave.
