Frazier showed a lot of class here. He comes off real well. Anyone else get mad at the host for pronouncing Joe Louis' name like he's French?
Great clip! Nice to see how Ali and Frazier seemed to like and respect each other, and how touched Ali was by Louis's greeting. Frazier's intense hatred for Ali must have developed later. In "Champions for ever" from 1988 Joe's dislike for Ali is plain to see, but here there seems to be have been nothing but respect and affection between them. Two guys that know they made each other great. I wonder what changed.
It is obvious from what Frazier says in the clip that Ali is being honest when he says that he only called Frazer all of those names to promote their fights. Ali loved to put on a show when people were watching. Although I still can see from Frazier's viewpoint & that he didn't want to be cast as this villain nor be the butt of the joke. No matter how harmless Ali's intention. May be time for Joe to let it go ,however. Seems like Ali was more upset about Joe Louis' conditon (he sounded awful)at the end of that clip. Dose of reality to a fighter about the condition in which this sport can leave you.
that was superb and smokin joe was as sharp as a tack.didn't he look soooo tough. they actually looked like they liked one another there. cheers for that
